I wish I could help you. I am in the same situation with my adult son. He absolutely refuses mediation. He has not worked in almost a year, has two infant children he no longer supports (real behind in child support) and skipped town on a court date so now has a bench warrant.
Before the illness too hold, you could not make him mad. Now he goes into kicking, throwing, screaming rages. It is only a matter of time before he hurts someone.
He believe the gov is doing it all. I have turned over every rock for help. I have gotten the 'he needs to hit bottom' advice too but what does that mean...someone is dead, he is in prison?
If he returns to my home next month, I plan to trick him into talking to a doctor who is willing to sign and affidavit if he admits to anything at all and then I can work toward a conversatorship and possibly forced confinement....Mostly with privacy laws, your hands are tied...
It is very frustrating and sad. He was a very successful systems developer traveling through Asia playing golf, full time maid and cook and now he just eats, watches TV, paces and paces and paces....
