Every day situations with bipolar: flipping out

We all have our times where we get irritated and "snap" a little bit so to speak. For us bipolar people this snap tends to happen a little more often. Have a question!

Hi just a quick question.... My husband has random mood swings several times in a day ranging from happy to mad to sad but he can repeat the cycle several times in a day. Even he can be happy and everythings great and 20 minutes later hes mad at something. I was wondering if that was a sympton of bipolar? Thank you, wife who needs answer
