When I visit the pDoc, after he writes a few things on a sheet of paper, the very first words out of his mouth are, "So, how are you doing"? I never know exctly what to say. How can you describe the way you feel when you aren't sure yourself? How can you define mood elevation or decrease when you have no baseline on which to base your answer.

If you don't know how a "normal" person feels, how can you relate your feelings to a "normal" person. I think that is one of the most discouraging things about this illness; I can't describe how I feel well enough for another person to understand. This eludes me, always just barely out of reach.

i have a hard time myself trying to explain my feelings to my  dr.

i have a mood diary to show how i have been doing

tells him my ups and my downs

i keep a daily diary of my symptoms so i know where i am at

it tells me how my symptoms or rather by my symptoms effects my mood and what mood i am in

that tells me what i have to fix

it keeps me sane
