my son has been diagnosed with bi-polar and has been in trouble with the law for years. He is 19 years old. He was on probation for one year. During this year he committed violations against his probation. Three months ago he was diagnosed with bi=-polar, he is a changed man. He went to trial 2 days ago for violation of probation, he had a letter his lawyer presented to the judge discussing his bi-polar and the meds he is on. The judge put John away for possibly 3 and 1/2 years. I feel this is discriminatory. We live in Massachusetts. I am trying to find any advice on how to help my son get the help he needs. Being behind bars is not going to help.
