Perhaps it is a side effect. Look up the side effects on the internet by keying in the name of the medication. I would have my child have a complete physical right away. Have you already done this? My son has Bipolar also. It's been very difficult thgrough the years to find answers and the right drs and counselors to help him. I hope you find the right answer.   joicie
