Hi, concerned. Young and raging on hormones really complicates the issue. The crux is if the behavior seriously interfers with work (school) and social functioning, and also if others notice a marked change in behavior. Hope this helps -

Moody can mean many things.  Can you elaborate and give an example?  I have a 19 year old diagnosed at age 12 with Bipolar 1 and she is "moody".  Right now she has not taken her meds for two weeks because she has been "runnning, running, running".  She has made many bad choices and impulsive decisions that lead to having to pick up the pieces in the end.  Her mood is irritable to happy to not wanting to be around me (needing her total independence) to calling me all day long to not being home for two weeks (I know where she is at....this time but I am sure she is not making the best of choices but I have learned to not be so nagging-or let's just say I am working on it).

My answer was not to take the focus off your question only to give you an example of someone around your daughters age that is Bipolar.  So I hope this helped a little and if you can elaborate more it would be helpful.
