Q: is losing your mental sharpness a casualty of bipolar?

meds have not been taken in two+ years(and will not again), more things which used to come so easily are increasingly more difficult and it is not just from getting a couple years older. im slipping. The more I research symptoms of it all the more frightened i feel. yet fright is not exactly what it is. I find myself screaming alot in my head

Well... I am on meds and I am having problems with memory and mental sharpness. Confusion is a big thing for me...  I know you are not on meds... but i think that even with meds.... the sharpness dulls with bipolar.  We wear out our brains...

dragon,

I've been struggling with this issue too.  Without the meds., confusion

causes memory problems.  Yet, many the meds also do the same

thing.

I guess the lesser of the evils is taking the meds, at least

there is some functionality, at least for me.

Sorry your struggling with this, good luck.

Dragon, i've been off my meds for a couple of years and i get confused and can't remeber anything on dya i was frantic over my cars keys and a lady said look in your hand. My mind seems to go at warp speed i can't stop thinking and things i used to do easily i now find hard to do. But i can't go back to seroquel it just made me so tired and thristy so now i just write things down. Also i can't seem to spell anything and can't remeber some people names i've know all my life. But good luck to you but i do know how you feel.
