Q: Med Shot

Does anyone know about a med that is given in a shot once a month? What is it and what does it treat?

Hi Stephanie:

I'm not a physician, but off the top of my head, I can think of Haldol Decanoate, which is a long term-injection (depo), used for psychotic disorders. It is primarily prescribed for schizophrenia, but physicians may use it for other disorders. You can learn more about Haldol Decanoate here.

I hope this helps,

Is this shot daily or once-a-month or longer? What is the time frame?
