Q: Any one on Trileptal?

Hi, Just looking for any one else that has been or is still on trileptal. I've been on it since last December. I keep deciding to go off of it, i'll go down a few hundred mgs, then I'll change my mind and go back up. i'm at 900 mg right now. how can you tell if it's really helping you? I'm also on 2.5 mg of clonazepam. I have alot of anxiety , irritability, and agitation. I know the trileptl is affecting my teeth too. I have gum disease now, and my teeth are feeling loose. I never had this before. I've tried other things like celexa, paxil, and seroquel, and none of them was the right thing for me. What have you guys found that works, and with the least side effects?

I have lost track of how long I have been on Trileptal. It has been at least a couple of years. I am taking 900 mg Trileptal, 1.5 mg of Klonapin, and 60 mg of Cymbalta. I have for the most part been doing really well emotionally on this cocktail. I also supplement the meds with an excerise class called Zumba 3x a week, and singing in a chorus. The interaction with the people in my excerise class and the chorus has helped a lot. Also, Zumba is really fun.

I did get really freaked out when I read your post because I recently learned that I have some serious dental problems. I have receeding gums, bone loss, and air pockets around some of my teeth. I assumed the problem was from the dry mouth from the Cymbalta, which is a recent addition. I did not suspect the Trileptal until your message. I don't know what to do, because I have tried most of the mood stabilizers and anti depressants and this is the only combination that seems to be working well. My choices seem to be stay happy for a while and lose some teeth down the road, or get off the meds, keep my teeth and risk severe depression. I wonder if it's possible to be happy with false teeth......
