Hi Cynthia,

I'm not a pharmacist but my understanding of these two drugs is as follows. Trileptal is used for the stabilizing of electrical activity in the brain - as would be used in the treatment of epilepsy. This is a prescription medication that comes with a list of cautions as long as your arm. On top of this you are taking ecstasy, which is a non-prescription drug that can and does vary in dosage, is illegal to produce, possess or supply.

Without getting into the moral or legal issues, I can only say you appear to be doing yourself a great disservice. The effects of ecstacy alone are well documented and anyone with a psychological condition is especially advised to steer well clear. As to the combined effect - well, I'm really not sure. You would probably need to get information from someone with a grasp of pharmacology.

Im sorry but it erks me to here some professional tell you how horrible XTC is on your brain & you shouldnt do it....apparently he's never done it b4 LOL...My opinion, there are sooooo many other issues in this world that need more attention than this "War on Drugs"....If trileptal is an anti depressant from "what Ive heard" you probably wont feel any effects of the XTC but do be careful if you decide to try it. You can go to www.dancesafe.org and buy a tester kit to make sure you are getting pure MDMA its all the crap they mix in w/it that kills ppl...well that & ppl dont drink enough water. I feel if your going to party at least be knowledgable & as safe as possible. Good luck

It is a dangerous road to mix any street drugs with your prescriptions. If you are going to stick with doing those, you may as well just not try the prescriptions. Most people have to come to realize that partying has to end in favor of taking control of their mental health. If you asked this question to hear, "Sure, party on!" I am going to have to weigh in on the side of you taking care of yourself overall. One more thought, sleep is a critical issue for people with bipolar. Take care.

I think that taking extacy anytime is very dangerous..I have known people who have overdosed on it just taking it alone..I think it is a very bad idea to mix it with your medication..plus being bipolar it is not a good idea at all...I am not a doctor but for your safety I would not do it...
