Q: Do antidepressants cause hypomania in a person without bipolar?

I was diagnosed with depression about six years ago. I was put on antidepressants and within a while I experienced what I think is hypomania. I felt great - the best I've ever felt. Non-stop creative thoughts, lots of energy, etc. But it went away. I was on the meds for a year. Since then, I've been depressed at times and took St. John's Wort. Each time the hypomania comes back. But the last time I didn't feel great. I was extremely agitated and angry. What is going on?
