Q: I have a very close friend that we all think may be bipolar.

I have a very close friend that we all think may be bipolar. She's great person when she's in a good mood, but then she can fall into a deep depression and it goes downhill fast from there. She says hurtful things, verbally attacks each of us, thinks the world is against her and everyone is talking about her. Her insecurities are ruining her marriage and her friendships. I use to think she was just a drama queen and a manipulitive person and I still love her, but now I truly think there is something wrong. Please help!!

We have all tried to talk to her at some point or another and her excuse is "everyone is talking shit about me" or "he's so mean to me" or "I can't deal with it and want to run away". Its really sad cause she is pushing all of us away and we aren't just friends, we are a very close knit circle that are like sisters. This is our family, husbands and children are involved in this mess. There is a long family history of abandonment with her. I'm at a loss as what to do next.

For what ive experianced with someone who is bipolar one thing she does it push people away, say that everyone hates me, im always at wrong, etc. So maybe this friend of yours does have bipolar, try to ask her if she would like you to take her to see someone. Explaining how much you all care and are right by her side the more it will help her.
