Q: a friend of mine thinks she has borderline personality disorder after reading about the symptoms in the articles available on internet. how do i confirm whether she actually has any disorder or not..

to b more precise how do i make her believe that she doesnot have any disorder!! and i want to know how to differentiate normal mood swings and those in bpd!! need serious help in this case..

Offer to go with her to a psychiatrist.  Let her tell the symptoms she believes add up to this diagnosis.  Let the doctor decided what is what.  It is dangerous to try to diagnose anyone, including yourself, as well as dangerous to try to dissuade someone else from believing in a diagnosis she thinks is valid.
