Q: If our bipolar treatment is going slowly are we eligible for disability until we can return to work?

I have not been able to work for 6 months because the stress of work sets my bipolar off in a major way. My doctor is trying to find the right medication for me and I am on the third try. I am now having severe side affects from this one, too. I don't know when I will be able to function as an employee again and am hoping someone can tell me if I would be wasting my time trying to get disability. My financial situation is NOT helping my treatment at all, any help?
