I just started using the generic form of Lamictal - has anyone else used Lamotigrine?  I'm sensing it may not be quite as effective.  Any comments??

My ins. co. sent the generic, unbeknownst to me, in Sept.  I did notice that the shape of the pill had changed and asked my doc but they said, "don't worry, probably just a new manufacturer", so...I left it at that.  But not long after, I began to feel like crap.  My mood swings became intense, major fatigue and alot of headaches.  I called my ins. co just yesterday and found out that Lamictal had gone generic and that was what I had rec'd in Sept. and then it all made sense.  I can almost pinpoint that is when I started feeling so bad.  I really felt like I was going crazy!  I called my ins. co. today expecting a fight b/c Lamictal is not cheap but thank God, they gave me no problem.  I was so grateful!  I am all for generics IF they work...IF!  So, if you decide to take it, just be very aware of your body and if you notice anything at all, call your doc asap and your ins. co.  I hope this generic will work for others but it DEF did not work for me!
