Q: Does having an alcoholic father have a bi-polar child?

When my daughter was small she was a head beater and had terrible temper tantrums. As she grew older she had a problem with telling lies. Now as an adult I fear she might be bi-polar. After a messy divorce she has totally alienated herself from me and told people lies about me that are just not true. I think she believes them. As my only child and my ex-husband being an alcoholic, my daughter and I were also very close, some told me too close. I have heard that children of alcoholics (my husband drank very heavy during the time when she was conceived) have a good chance of being bi-polar. She will not go for help as she doesn't believe she has a problem. She says I am the one with a problem, has said she is "done with me" and I do not even know where she is living. Any help or experience out there to share?
