To be brief,
People with Bipolar type I have more manic episodes, the depressive aspect is not as big of an issue nor does it have to even be there.
Bipolar type II have less intense manic episodes and at least one episode of major depression.
In other words, type two involves less intense episodes of mania and one or more major episodes of depression. That's all!
