Q: Really need Information on Abilify.

My new pdoc has retired, and i was given a new one, who is less they forth coming and not helpful. I don't trust him.  after a 15 minuete talk with him, he write me out a pescription for  Abilify.  I am not sure about this medication as i have heard some horrible stories about it. I have also heard that it's only for people with bipolar 1, which could just be wrong information. I was dignosed with bipolar II.

This pdoc was of no help and wouldn't anwser my questions. Is Abilify only for bipolar 1?. Also dose any one have any experience with it, if so good or bad?. what are the side affects?. All information on this would be really helpful and apreciated.

My last pdoc said he would never put me on it.  Like i said new one is just no help with anything. Also he precribed me a painkiller to go with the Abilify. Found out it was a pain killer after asking the pharmacyist. Would like to know why to that as well.

Thanks.

Here's information about Abilify:

It isn't only for people with bipolar 1. Yes, there's the potential for some serious side effects, but those aren't likely to come on all at once. The biggest things to watch for are weight gain and symptoms of tardive dyskinesia (click for info).

I have no idea why he prescribed a painkiller for you.
