Q: my daughter inlaw has bipolar disorder is it normal to ignore her baby but care about her husband

she doesn't show physical love to her son ,she does know his likes and dislikes but there is no emotional or physical contact unless she has to. we have watched her just walk by him. my son has actually gotten upset and yelled at her to actually touch him pick him up and cuddle him when he is crying. he is a year old now , when first born she cared but than was diganosed with postpartem depression.  since than she has been diagnosed with bipolar-i'm sure she loves him but she ignores him, we have taken him for a day and when we bring him back she still ignores him doesn't kiss and hug never says she misses him. sometimes doesn't even look at him

No it's not normal.  My dad who's bipolar and my son who's also diagnosed with a mood disorder both love babies and are very good with them.  Generally bipolar people are very very loving and empathetic.  Severe depression can make you lose interest in activities or people.  She may have a very bad depression.  She probably needs some help before the baby gets any older.
