Q: what medications can help a bipolar adult stop sleepwalking and having disruptive sleep?

My husband is bipolar and sleepwalks when he is under stress.  His psychiatrist has had him on Ativan at night, but at a recent visit with his family practitioner he was told that Ativan can be addictive and he should look into other medications to help him sleep. My 5 year old daughter (also bipolar) is on seroquel at night to help her sleep.  Does anyone have any experience with an adult taking seroquel for sleep disturbances?

If the Ativan works, I would stick with that.  I have been on several different sleep medications and, although Ativan was never strong enough for me, it was the only one that I didn't find addictive or have problems with memory loss or other side effects.
