I am currently on 250mg seroquel, along with Remeron and klonopin to sleep at night.

The good thing is that I sleep like a zombie, the bad thing is that I gained 30 pounds within a few months.  What will happen if I quit taking the seroquel, i.e. seizures, etc?  The other meds I take are 30mg morphine, soma 350mg, and Norco 325mg every six hours, as needed for breakthough pain.  I have been experiencing back pain since 1998 and finally had surgery (Double fusion) in 2006.  I have had severe pain even after shock therapy prior to my back surgery.  I experienced grand mal seizures getting off Xanax and am concerned if I have them again.  Will I experience side effects by stopping the seroquel cold turkey?  I cannot fit into any of my clothes, which does not help my severe depression.  The pain medicine is for a double fusion that did not take back in April 2006.  Plus, I have anxiety attacks if I go anywhere other than the doctors.  Any help on the weight loss and quitting the seroquel?

You should really talk with your doctor before coming off any of your meds.  What I can tell you is that Xanax and Seroquel are in completely different families of meds.  Xanax is a tranquilizer and can have sever reactions to 'going cold turkey'.  I do not think this risk is as big with seroquel.  Again though you really need to talk with your doctor.  Especially given the number of meds you are on.

you have to be very cautious about all these meds you are taking. just like keith ledger died of drug interaction along with anna  nicole smith and a slew of other ppl, you my friend are taking the same kinds of meds they were taking and it can cause you to stop breathing in your sleep. i can't believe adoctor would give you all these heavy medications to take along with morphine. that is a cocktail for death. you have to be very careful please. i'm not kidding. i've known ppl to die in their sleep doing exactly what youre doing now.

as far as the weight gain goes, with that kind of medication you are going to gain weight and it also causes bloating. if  you are concerned with just the seroquel making you gain the weight youre a little wrong there. all of these meds will make you gain weight. but if you think it's just or mainly the seroquel then ask your doctor to Rx you another med in its place that dosen't cause you weight gain. there are other drugs that wont make you gain the weight, but you'd have to go over them all with your doctor to see which can be changed.  i'd try to get off some of them if i were you.  good luck
