Q: I need help for an upcoming psych exam for bipolar depression.

I have a psych exam coming up on Wednesday to be evaluated for Bipolar. I know I have it and have been researching this for years. I was diagnosed with depression in 2002 and then diagnosed for post traumatic stress disorder last year. Of all the signs that I have seen for bioplar, it seems like I have one for any type of bipolar. How do I approach this appointment correctly for social security so I don't mess up. I don't want to loose my kids.

just be open and honest with your doctor. Tell them whats going on and how you feel also address your concers about your kids. I always knew I was bipolar but was afraid to get labled BIPOLAR co to insurance and so on but I talked with my doctor about it and what she did was treat me for bipolar but has me listed as being treat for depression. I hope this helps. Hang in there
