Have you all looked into getting Medicaid for her?  Is her income low enough to qualify for it?  If so, I would definitely have her apply for that.  It would help immensely with the costs.  It sounds like since she lost her job that she has no income.  She may also be able to find doctors that have sliding scale fees, where they base costs on her income.  You might also go through community health centers to ask for help or to get resources that might help you.  You could also ask local hospitals if they know of any resources for her.  Also, I'm not sure if maybe you could get a court to claim her to be incompetent and unable to care for herself, and then you could claim her as a dependent and you could use your insurance (if you have some) for her.  I'm not an expert on this, but these are just some ideas I had that might help her.  I wish you guys luck.
