Stormfuries is tired of fighting "normals"

08/28/08

I know myself better than anyone on the planet, BiPolar and all. My question is I read all the dumb answers you all give to others who are seeking advice or help based soley on your own experiences! Do NONE of you ever take the time to do any research on mental illnesses? I may be a freak about researching everything having to do with mental illnesses but you all just wing it and hand out lame advice to these people who are legitimately asking for help.

What does that say about this community? We sound prejudicial, snobbish, and oddly as if we are better or more advanced than the "normals" who come here for help.

Heaven save us from this type of mania and advice; lest someone decide we should be cast into a herd of pigs.

And I practice the "craft", no satan hangs in my belief.

Time to learn humility people! Wake up and start practicing random acts of kindness...or is it all about YOU???

Blessed Be!

Forgive me, I feel like you have cursed me with one hand and blessed me with the other. Possible answers to your question are people feel comfortable sharing their hard-won personal experiences, they know they are not experts and do not want to give out false info, they figure everyone posting to a website has google and knows how to use it...your writing style seems a tad manic, so I hope you are doing ok. The world is a complicated place, and sometimes the best medicine is just knowing that someone is listening. I really do not mean to sound pretentious, annoying, cloying or DUMB...with an open hand of friendship,

I've done TONS of research. I knew nothing of this illness when I first entered my living hell. Reading stories of real people is very helpful to understand the different incarnations of this illness. I've learned from other's experiences. I've received support from those who understand what I'm going through because friend and family don't really understand it. I'm sure everyone who visits these forums takes something different away from the experience. These forums have helped ease the pain to some degree for me. This has been the worse experience of my life so far and I appreciate the answers, insight and support I've received from this site and others. These forums aren't for everyone.

I understand your frustration - but this is a blog not a professional help center.  This site is for support from other people who are suffering from this debilitating disorder, and sometimes it helps people who are suffering to reach out to others debilitated by the same disorder.  If you feel this forum is beneath you, then perhaps you need to move on to some actual professional help.

Sorry to disappoint you.
