I have taken Effexor XR for over ten years. However, I am now in the Medicare gap. My next 3 month supply will cost me $1071. because my Anthem MCR moved it to a tier 3 drug (after it has been just a brand name drug--tier 2--for as long as I have taken it. I consider this unfair and unethical, especially for sr. citizens on Social Security). My psychiatrist thought I could switch to Pristiq because only one pill a day is taken and that at least would lower my cost.
I gave it a try, but after 4 days, I've had to quit due to bad physical side effects. So I guess the Feds. win again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
