I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder after a manic episode I had this past September. I had to leave the college I had just started attending and come back home. I have decided to stay at a local University, but still have yet to tell people the true reasons behind me coming back home. I feel very capable and have been successful in school and building new friendships since the diagnosis. I don't feel that it is necessary to tell them but know one day I will have to. I also feel that there is still a stigma associated with being bipolar which makes people apprehensive about being friends or get into a relationship with someone who has it. Any comments/past experiences?
