Q: Was wondering if anyone else has had any bad side effects from lithium??

I have bipolar and I was taking olanzapine for 3 months and i had no side effects at all but it really increased my appetite and made me put on weight. I then changed medication to lithium, and since taking it i have been vomiting, feeling nauseas, headached, and dizziness, is this normal?? I

My brother took lithium and, apparently, the levels in his system went too high. He went into a coma, and basically, was all of his systems shut down. He died.

Lithium is a dangerous element. Follow your doctor's advice, which will probably include having the lithium levels checked periodically. Don't ignore side effects.
