Q: What is the hereditary factor when one parent has bipolar?

I am not sure about the percentage, but my father is bipolar and I am.... badly, and there is severe depression with my mom and on her side of the family.  :(  So, I don't know, but I don't think that just "because" a parent is bipolar does not automatically mean you are "going to be" bipolar.  If you are worried about it, I would seek a dr's opinion for sure. :)
