Q: Possibility of Vagas Nerve Stimulation

I was wondering about how much evidence is out there about VNS therapy. My doctor says I am a great canidate for it. With many failed treatmets in the last 4 years. I am BP 2. I have TRD. I have been through 28 differnet meds in 4 years, therapy for 7 years, and a physicatrist for 15 years and don't forget ECT treatments. I have been through a lot. I have read everything I could about VNS. And my doctor and I have talked about it. What does the doctors, experts and anyone else on this website have to say about it. Please let me know.

I have been bipolar for 40 years and am also have TRD. I received a VNS implant in October. For a couple months I  didn't see any difference, but now I am starting to feel a lot better. It takes a while for it to work but it appears to me that it does work. The procedure is not that uncomfortable, and neither is the stimulation. All in all I think it is worth a try.
