There isn't necessarily a lesson to learn except having the will to talk to a doctor or therapist about your feelings and finding the right combination of medication.  A brighter day is just around the corner and there are many people who will listen and who care.  They can be counselors and doctors, they don't necessarily have to be friends and relatives. Hang in there and don't feel like you are doing anything wrong by not finding the "lesson," as there may not always be one to learn.
