Hi yogurt5,

I'm bipolar and I've experienced several moods in one day. For instance, when I hung out with friends, in the begining of the day, I would be happy, bubbly, and outgoing. However, later in that day, while still with my friends, my mood would change. I wasn't as bubbly. I would be nervous and irritable. I thought that I was "willing" myself to act strange. I couldn't snap myself out of it. I thought of myself as Dr Jekel and Mr. Hyde. I never knew what personality was going to emerge. At the time, I didn't know that a chemical imbalance was controling my life.

Sounds like you may be bi-polar. Lord knows it's like the common cold. Just about everyone seems to have it. Maybe it's something in the water...lol. A key question to ask yourself is, "Is your mood swings negatively effecting your relationships with friends, family, co-workers." If yes, then there's something wrong. If your moods are controling you there's something wrong.  Go and talk to a

psychiatrist. They can tell you for sure if you need mood stabilizing meds.

I wish you the best!

Wow.  That's a really good question and I would also like to see the answer to this one.  Sounds like my husband.

Could be. There is a type of Bipolar called Mixed Bipolar disorder. Mixed bipolar people have mania and depression that occur at the same time, or in rapid sequence. You should talk to him about seeking help, especially if it is affecting his life and relationships. Reply
