I agree with getting another opinion. But remember, mania doesn't always mean euphoria. There's alot of uncontrolled anger that can go along with being BiPolar. And it may not be the number of meds, but which meds or when he's taking them. Definitely let the Doctor know immediately about his behavior. I wish the best for you and your grandson.
I dont know what medication your grandson is on. I hope it is not Depakote. Depakote especially in children, can change a child's mood and behavior in scary and drastic ways. It can cause extreme aggression, moodiness, irritability, defiance beyond reason, depression, lack of concentration and regression in behavior, learning and social skills.
