I am taking 300 mg of Lamictal with 20 mg. of Abilify at night before bed.  I also take 30 mg. of Prozak at noon time with lunch.  The Lamictal and Abilify are mood stabilizers that did NOTHING for my depression.  After my 3rd suicide attempt, the doctors convinced me to add Prozak to the mix and OMG, it has worked like a charm for me!  It tookabout 2 weeks after starting the Prozak to see color returning to my world.  It's hard to accept the fact that I am dependant upon this medicine regimine and will be for the rest of my life, but for the first time in a long, long time I realize that I am actually looking forward to "the rest of my life."  Don't be afraid to question and challenge your doctor.  Only you know what is / is not working for you.  It's frustrating that so much of this is trial and error .... hang in there

Hi Charles, we are all different. Different meds work for different people and even then over time that med might not work.  I am on a cocktail of about 8 meds and we are constantly adjusting them up and down.  You need to get a relationship with a reliable psychiatrist that you can work with on a regular basis til you get the right combination of meds.  I don't know about Cymbalta for Bipolar, never took it.  Are you seeing a psychiatrist or a General Practitioner?
