Q: Is there any drug to control mood and sleep like seroquel without weightgain?

I am having a difficult time and I hope someone who knows their stuff can reply to this one.  I am having alot of pain due to degenerative arthritis.  I am on seroquel for the bipolar but I am unable to lose weight on seroquel and it seems like the weight keeps the same or goes up slightly.  I cannot keep on that walking track due to the pain sometimes is herendous.  I wondered if there is any drug that you know of out there to help with sleep and mood like seroquel does?  Mostly looking for something to help with sleep.  I am scared to try ambilify due to the side effects of not being able to keep still and etc.  I have never been psychotic as in seeing things or hearing things that weren't there.  I do suffer the sleep situation, anxiety, stress, worry, depression of bipolar but my main problem is SLEEP.

I have BP2 and my pdoc (whom I love and trust dearly) prescribed Lamictal and Abilify.  That helped tremendously with the severe mood swings, irregular sleep and spuratic eating habits.  6 months later she added prozac to the mix to help with the severe depression side.  The combination has significantly reduced the BP2 symptoms.  My pharmacist emphasized the importance of timing the meds.  I have to take the prozac 12 hours after taking the Lamictal and Abilify because Abilify reduces the bodies ability to eliminate prozac from your system.  Prozac, being a tranqualizer will decrease your appetite while at the same time making you tired.  So, I feel my best and the medicine works the best when I take the meds on time every day at 9 am and 9 pm.  I have gained weight since beginning the meds, but  there again (prior to starting meds) I didn't have good eating habits.  Good luck to you, Rosebud
