Natral Alternatives to Medications?

Does anyone here have any experience with natrual alternatives to medications like Lamitical or Lithium? My 14 year old so has had bad reactions to both. A friend who had trouble with both takes Exhilarin from www.metegenics.com . Has any one tried this or others? Since he is only 14 I am not sure…
