Q: Doctor REFUSING to treat...

I am trying to get treatment for my bipolar, but my new doctor refuses to treat me until I have been cannabis and tobacco free for a min of 30 days, and because I am pregnant said I would have to 'suffer' it out until I deliver....am I wrong to question this?!?

I would definitely question this!!  And I would find a new doctor if you can.  I am bipolar and I know that there are wonderful drugs out there, and I believe a lot of them can be taken when pregnant.  You should not have to suffer for 30 days or through the pregnancy!  The cannabis and tobacco will not interact with the meds as far as I know.  Sounds like the doc is really hateful against drug users and smokers!  I had to get rid of one OB that I had when I was pregnant, because when he asked if I ever did drugs, I told him about my cocaine use and instantly his attitude towards me changed for the worse.  That was the last I saw of him!!
