Hi, Bellami. I'm not an MD. A 100 mg of Seroquel is typically in the dose range for a sleep aid. It is a very light dose, so side effects are likely to be minimal. Sleep aids tend to be prescribed on an "as-needed" basis, which further reduces the side effects potential.

For treating bipolar depression and mania and psychosis, the dose range tends to be 300-600 mg.

So you need to ask your doctor what the Seroquel is being prescribed for. If you're concerned about the med, then let your doctor know. The onus is on him/her to make you feel comfortable taking it, not you. If you don't feel comfortable - for whatever reason - feel free asking him/her to prescribe another sleep aid (assuming the med is for sleep), but keep in mind other meds also have risk-benefit considerations. A lot of docs are recommending melatonin, a natural sleep aid. If you go with this, find a slow release pill, as melatonin wears off fairly quickly.

I have been taking seroquel for 4 years now and the only thing I have sometimes is slight pain in my legs and it makes them restless I take Paxam which stops this and sleeping to much. My weight well I work out 3 times weekly. if your reading these symptoms from a pamphlet throw it away but if you are having a lot of side affects I would see my doctor, panic disorder may be setting in. still see a doctor.Wink
