What medication for bipolar is safe with few side effects of hairloss or weightgain?

I had been diagnosed back in the 80's with bipolar.  I have struggled with medications only to have to discontinue them due to side effects.  Right now I am on seroquel and it is making me so depressed the weightgain and I have no desire for sex.  I wondered what medication can I get on and you can figure I have been on just about all of them that would help my bipolar without the weightgain nor hairloss or sexual side effects?  I know I am asking for a miracle it sounds.  There has got to be a solution.  Sleep is my main problem and then comes the depression when trying a new medication.  Please post some answers on your experience.  Thank-you!

need to know have you tried triliptal and welbutrin, these are the two that I'm on right now. The triliptal has one side affect that I worry about, shutting my liver down. As for the sex drive have a testosirone test done, that might be your answer. My doc put me on calis which helped me greatly in the sex department. I don't know what else they wil put me on because I'm still having some problems but its just something we have to do, I know that it's aggravating but it has to be this way for us. The weight gain, try to change your diet slowly, I did and it works for me! Hope this helps you my friend cause I feel your pain and don't want anyone to feel this!!

I was bald before diagnosis, and I have gained 60 pounds since being medicated. So, I can't help you on #1 and I've had no luck with #2. Good luck!
