What medication for bipolar is safe with few side effects of hairloss or weightgain?

I had been diagnosed back in the 80's with bipolar. I have struggled with medications only to have to discontinue them due to side effects. Right now I am on seroquel and it is making me so depressed the weightgain and I have no desire for sex. I wondered what medication can I get...
