Q: In a relationship with a potential bipolar...having a lot of trouble dealing with the mood swings

I have been in a relationship with my bf for 9 months.  He is the most loving, caring, respectful man-when he is not in his 'lows'.  We have wonderful times together, laugh together, enjoy each other to the fullest.  We can have an amazing day-and out of nowhere he will go from being the happiest man to the most bitter, angry, depressed man I have ever met.  The man I just enjoyed my day with will treat me like I am worthless, and threaten to leave for no reason.  He expresses how he hates the world, and accuses me of things that make no sense.  After a while, he is perfectly happy again-and a few minutes later-he is in a 'low' all over again.  It continues for a while until I cry, or almost give up because I don't know what to do anymore, and then he is fine again, like nothing ever happened.  I think he may be bipolar from my research and findings on other with similar stories I have read online.  What can I do? Cry

I'm not a doctor or anything, but i would suggest you talk to him about seeking help...  I have been with my fiance' for 3 years who was recently diagnosed w/ bipolar 5 mths  ago. After diagnosis, it took lots of stress off our relationship due to the right meds. The sooner you find out, the better! Medication and therapy is the key. If you and his parents are close, you should get them involved! Be strong, and good luck!  hope this helps! :)
