I wouldn't say I'm depressed per-sei, in fact rather the complete opposite hence the reason why my partner insisted I saw the doctor because things were getting out of hand. We have a plan for the times I am unwell with depression and things have changed so we need to create a new plan.   The "ups" are wonderful but then it gets to a point where it feels as though I'm riding a bike with a snapped chain and broken brakes, and  I can't stop until I crash, everything is comming at me, colours and shapes are more defined, sounds, taste, smell, and touch are overwhelming, there have been times where I have heard laughter and people speaking to me when I know that I'm alone, there have been times when I have seen intruders in our house but when the light is turned on and a thorough search is carried out there is nothing or nobody there, I get overly anxious and feel as though I simply can't trust myself or those around me, and everything becomes this one big mess. I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't be around people, I'm not me during those times.I'm hoping and praying that citalopram is the right path.
