Q: I have a question about prescribed medication for BP and drinking alcohol.

My husband is prescribed a combination of Seroquel and Cymbalta for his BP symptoms, however, he drinks at least  six beers a day.  He insists that he can not 'shut down' without the alcohol.  After years of giving him the benefit of the doubt, his rage seems ready to explode, especially once he starts drinking. It has becoming too difficult to live with him.

Any information that you can give me will help.  I'm running out of patience...

I would first go to Alanon nearest you.  This drinking with psyhe meds is very dangerous  Maybe try and have him committed.  He may hate you at first but at least he will dry out and be away from alcohol and start to feel better.   If the rage gets too bad maybe you ought to take a vacation away.  Maybe it will give him time to think about it.  My heart goes out to you.
