Omega-3's effect on bipolar disorder still unclear

Researchers say there is still not enough evidence to say whether omega-3 fatty acids are useful treatments for people with bipolar disorder. Scientists analyzed studies on omega-3s and bipolar disorder and could only find one that provided enough data for them to analyze the fats' effects. Patients in this study had less severe depression symptoms while taking the supplements, but omega-3s did not affect their mania symptoms.
