Study: Anti-psychotic prescriptions for children "soaring"

A new study has found that anti-psychotic drug prescriptions for children have increased six-fold since the early 1990s. Doctors are appear to be prescribing anti-psychotic medicines for mood and behavior disorders, conditions that do not have a psychotic component. These "off-label" treatments are legal, but researchers are concerned about the lack of data on the long-term effects of anti-psychotic drugs in children. Read more »
