Over the past decade, the number of children ages two to five years old who have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and prescribed antipsychotic medications has doubled, new research suggests. The study found that though the practice of prescribing these powerful medications to toddlers is still fairly rare (about one in every 3,000 two-year-olds), it is a practice that is becoming more frequent.
