not being properly identified in patients and that current care for
the disorder may be dangerous. In an essay in the medical journal
The Lancet, Benazzi explores the differences between the bipolar
disorders, the medications needed to treat them, and the ways that
undermedicating bipolar II disorder can make the condition worse.
