Researchers found that some adults with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and bipolar disorder had fewer ADHD symptoms when they took mood stabilizers and the antidepressant Wellbutrin. Adults with both disorders have more suicide attempts and a higher risk of substance addiction than people who have bipolar disorder only. Researchers say patients with both disorders are underrepresented in studies and are hopeful that this is a first step in helping these patients.
