Study: Mood stabilizers help bipolar kids

In a new study, the mood stabilizers Depakote and lithium significantly improved the symptoms of bipolar I disorder in children and teens ages seven to 17. Though the two meds are not approved for use by children, they are the most widely used mood stabilizers by kids with bipolar disorder. Researchers say their findings should give parents and doctors peace of mind about children's use of the meds. Read more »
