How Can Family Members Help Someone With Bipolar Disease

A free public online database may help speed efforts to identify
genes associated with bipolar disorder. The Bipolar Disorder
Phenome Database offers information on the disorder, including
detailed descriptions of symptoms and the course of the disease.
Researchers can also access DNA samples from more than 5,000
bipolar patients and their family members, which may help them find
specific genetic markers of the disorder.
