FDA approves new treatment for bipolar I disorder

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved Risperdal Consta for the treatment of bipolar I disorder. The drug was approved both as a stand-alone therapy or as an add-on treatment to lithium or valproate, the current standard of care for people with this condition. Risperdal Consta has already been approved in the United States as a treatment for schizophrenia and bipolar mania. Read more »
